About Us
We are a small home based breeder, dedicated to maintaining the integrity of The Rottweiler and German Shorthaired Pointer by staying true to the breeds. We adhere to the CKC and AKC standards and compete with our dogs in multiple venues, both conformation and working. Our belief is that a GSP can be -and definitely should be- the complete package. A dog that is able to spend all day working in the fields doing what they were bred to do while still being beautiful enough to enter the show ring and wrack up several ribbons with gusto, and most importantly, can be a dog that is capable to come home at the end of the day and just be a loving, family companion.
We don't breed often, only deciding to have a litter if we feel the breeding is up to our standards and will do justice to the breed as a whole, however when we do have litters we strive to breed dogs with stability in health and temperament, that can excel in conformation, field, performance and of course, family situations. Our dogs and puppies are raised in our home, as apart of our family and we look for a similar loving environment like ours when placing our puppies in their new, forever homes. While we love to hear about our pups going to competition homes, someone who will love them unconditionally is of the utmost importance to us.
Visitors to our home are always welcome, as are emails or phone calls regarding our dogs, puppies, kennel or just about the breed in general! We're always more than happy to talk about our dogs and the breed, and love to answer any questions or concerns the best that we can to our knowledge. Here at Shadowland we are members of good standing with The Canadian Kennel Club, The GSP _ _ _ _ _ _ and are actively involved with several rescue groups.
